Glasgow Cathedral was consecrated in 1197.

Glasgow Cathedral is known by many names, e.g. The Cathedral of Saint Mungo, High Kirk of Glasgow, St Kentigern’s Cathedral and St Mungo’s Cathedral.

From 1451 to 1870, the University of Glasgow held their first classes in the cathedral’s chapterhouse before moving to its current location on Gilmorehill.
